Pinterest is one of the best tools out there for content creators, bloggers, and business owners. It drives consistent traffic and, when used strategically, can absolutely be a source of income.

Here are 5 ways I personally make money with Pinterest:

Updates on 6/13/20205 – I felt the need to show you all how crucial Pinterest can be in driving traffic to your site. This is, by far, the number one way I make money via Pinterest.

1. New! Traffic To My Website

Above and beyond any of the information below, Pinterest has been a GAME CHANGER when it comes to driving traffic to my website. In 2024, I had 52,000 visits to my site. So far in 2025, as of June 13, I have had 76,000 visits to my site. This has led to an increase in retreat bookings, digital product sales, and services purchased (health coaching, personal training, etc). It would be silly for me to leave that piece of the puzzle out.

2. Pinterest Prosperity Course (Affiliate Income)

I like to give credit where credit is due. I took the course Pinterest Prosperity—and honestly, it was a game changer. Not only did it teach me how to effectively and efficiently set up my Pinterest account, boards, and pins, but it also walked me through creating and marketing digital products. It’s super robust but easy to understand and implement. The creator was a Pinterest Manager and her system of teaching really resonated with me. I had tried other Pinterest courses before and none of them resonated like this one.

3. Amazon Affiliate Product Links (Passive Income)

I use Amazon’s Affiliate Program to share links to products I love, use, or recommend—especially those that align with my audience’s interests, like fitness gear, kitchen gadgets, books, wellness tools, and more. When someone clicks on one of my links and makes a purchase (even if it’s not the exact product I linked to), I earn a small commission. It’s a great way to earn passive income from content you’re already creating. I usually almost always share my affiliate links in blog posts and product reviews to avoid a potential spam ban from Pinterest. You

🛒 Pro tip: Create themed idea lists or Pinterest pins linking to your Amazon finds, and include affiliate links in blog posts, emails, or your Stan Store.

4. Thorne Affiliate Product Links (Health & Wellness Niche)

If you’re in the health or wellness space, Thorne is an excellent affiliate option. They offer top-tier supplements that are well-respected in the industry. I only share products I use and trust, and Thorne is one of those brands. By joining their affiliate program, I earn a commission each time someone purchases through my referral link. I most often include these links in blog posts, social media content, and pins that focus on wellness, nutrition, and self-care.

Why Do I Choose Pinterest to Drive Traffic?

Pinterest has been one of the easiest and most consistent sources of website traffic for me over the years. One of the things I love most about it is that it doesn’t require you to show your face or constantly be “on” like other social platforms. You can create and share valuable content in a faceless, low-pressure way—and still see big results.

You don’t need a ton of followers to succeed on Pinterest. In fact, you don’t need any to start seeing traffic. Pinterest works more like a search engine than a social media platform. It shows your pins to users based on their interests and searches—not just who follows you.

Yes, you’ll likely grow followers over time, especially if you’re just starting out. But don’t let follower count discourage you. Some of my older pins—months or even a year old—still get steady traffic and occasionally go viral well after I posted them. That’s the beauty of Pinterest!

The more consistently you post, the more Pinterest pushes your content out to new audiences. It builds on itself over time. Stay consistent, stay patient—and watch your traffic grow.
